Protect Student Choice Campaign

Following the worrying news that the government plans to remove funding for the majority of level 3 qualifications other than A levels and T Levels from 2023, the Sixth Form College Association (SFCA) have started a campaign #ProtectStudentChoice and set up a petition to urge government to rethink its plans.

As well as signing and widely publicising the petition, I’m very pleased to announce that Linking London have formally been included as a campaign partner. We will continue to seek opportunities to lobby on behalf of our partnership and work with key stakeholders to help persuade government to guarantee BTECs and similar Applied General qualifications will continue to play a major role in the qualifications landscape.

To find out more please do attend our forthcoming Linking London BTEC Practitioner Group Meeting on the 21st of October where we will be updating partners on developments, as well as providing a platform to discuss the potential consequences of the government’s decision and explore how, as a partnership of over 50 members, we can help influence the debate.
