Linking London deliver workshop at the unionlearn Southern and Eastern Annual Conference

On the 1st of November unionlearn held their sixth annual unionlearn conference at Congress House, Great Russell Street. Trade unions are at the forefront of workplace learning and the conference provided an opportunity to celebrate the work of union learning reps over the last year in the southern and eastern region. Speakers included Tom Wilson, Director of unionlearn, Barry Francis, Regional Manager for unionlearn SERTUC and the author Lucy Cavendish.

A range of workshops were run in the morning and included an APEL and Accessing Higher Education workshop delivered by Sue Betts and Andrew Jones from Linking London. This workshop focussed on the changing HE sector and the use of APEL to facilitate progression to HE for adults in the workplace and included several practical activities to engage delegates. Informal feedback was very positive and highlighted the importance of supporting unionlearn reps to update their knowledge of HE progression opportunities.

Linking London also staffed a well attended stall at the conference which provided unionlearn reps with an opportunity to find out more about the network and our partners HE offer.
