IAG Practitioner Group Meeting
After a welcome from Andrew Jones, Deputy Director of Linking London, delegates heard from Amelia Gabriel, Managing Director of Pure Potential, who provided an overview of social mobility work undertaken by both Pure Potential and Access Professions & Filtered Foundation. Amelia explained how the organisations can support learners and advisers in education.
A roundtable partner update followed, where partners discussed and shared IAG related issues and examples of good practice. Topics included Mock Mini Interviews, industry contacts and UCAS applications.
After a short break, Ben Rutter, IAG Partner Account Manager at the Student Loans Company, presented the ground with a student finance update on deadlines, eligibility and available resources. Lisa Abrahams, Relationship Manager (London and SE) Customer Experience & Marketing at UCAS, then provided partners with an introduction to UCAS Progress. Lisa explained what this section of the UCAS web service provides for learners, and discussed the benefits the service could provide for students, advisers and FECs.
Hayley Phillips, Outreach Team Leader at GSM London, then gave a presentation detailing GSM London’s Curriculum and Outreach offer. This overview included discussion on partnership, strength-based learning and employability.
Andrew Jones closed the meeting with an update on Linking London’s proposed work-strand offer for the Summer Term, highlighting available resources and Linking London’s road-show offer.
