London NCOP - Linking London Update
In Hubs 1 and 2 we saw the launch of the UAL creative graduates programme which provides students with subject and career specific support in the form of graduate mentors within colleges. Across December the project got truly underway and we have had excellent feedback from students and mentors. Students benefitted from one to one support from Engagement Officers to complete their UCAS applications prior to the January deadline.
In Hub 2 the central team hosted three Student Finance information sessions at Croydon College for students, giving them the opportunity to find out further information on funding themselves in higher education. Students were also offered multiple one-to-one support sessions to edit personal statements before submitting them to UCAS.
In the next month in we are interviewing for the part time NCOP Support Officer (Havering FE) and we are hoping to have a candidate in post in the coming months. In Hub 3 we are currently recruiting for a full time NCOP Engagement Officer who will be facilitating activity in London South East Colleges, we hope to have this role in place in the next month.
Support Officers across Hubs 1 and 2 will be focusing on ensuring that any final UCAS applications are submitted prior to the January deadline. The central team will be developing resources for parents and carers including a resource on Student finance and further education options.

Linking London NCOP Outreach Hub Update
Plans are well underway now to develop a Linking London NCOP Outreach Hub offer for London sixth from and further education college careers advisers and teachers. The London Outreach Hub website is due to launch on the 31st of January at: www.londonncop.co.uk and will provide an overview of London NCOP Outreach Hub support and activity in collaboration with AccessHE and Aimhigher London who are working with schools north and south of the river respectively. Our Linking London NCOP Outreach Hub will be launching a new e-newsletter in the first week of February to keep you up to date with our offer and how you can get involved and on the 14th of February we will be holding our first event, from 11-1pm with lunch provided. The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to find out more about our exciting plans for our Linking London NCOP outreach hub work to support London college advisers and teachers, discuss key challenges in supporting college students into higher education and explore how we can foster greater collaborative working between London colleges and our university partners going forward.
At the event Linking London NCOP Outreach Hub staff will present their findings and common themes derived from conversations so far with London colleges and provide an opportunity for attendees to help shape the outreach hub offer going forward.
Please contact our Linking London NCOP Outreach Hub Officers Melanie (melanie.green@linkinglondon.ac.uk) or Jess (jess.brown@linkinglondon.ac.uk) to confirm your place or with any other queries about our exciting plans going forward.
