HE in FE Practitioner Group Meeting

The third and last HE in FE Practitioner Group Meeting of the academic year chaired by David Hillier, Assistant Principal - HE and Apprenticeships, South Thames Colleges Group, was held on 6 June and was well attended represented with a variety of colleges present.

This meeting took place after Linking London's second College HE Research Group lunch meeting.

After a warm welcome from the Chair David Hillier, South Thames Colleges Group, delegates discussed the latest news and developments in college HE, including OfS news and registrations, Augar review: summary and initial reactions, and heard from David Hillier on South Thames Colleges' experience on their Subject TEF pilot. Discussion included:

  • The proposed OfS registration fees 
  • Access and Participation Plans/Statements
  • Recommendations from the Augar review


A roundtable partner update then followed where partners discussed and shared higher education in further education related news, mergers and HE student recruitment and OfS registration updates.  

Following a networking break, Brian Hill, HE Coordinator, Uxbridge College (HCUC), presented to the group on the challenges and opportunities presented by the Office for Students registration.

The meeting closed with Arti Saraswat, Senior Policy Manager, Higher Education, AoC, presenting to the group on the latest policy changes for College HE and shared her thoughts about future policy developments and priorities for the sector in the year ahead.
