The third and final Higher and Degree Apprenticeship Group Meeting of the academic year was well attended, with both HE and FE partners present.

After a warm welcome from Darryll BravenboerDirector of Apprenticeships and Skills at Middlesex University London, the meeting began with a presentation from Adrian Anderson, Chief Executive from UVAC. Adrian presented to the group giving an overview of higher and degree apprenticeship news including looking at what the key developments are and what we know is coming in the near future.

This was followed by a group discussion where attendees went into three breakout groups and were asked to identify one key challenge and one key opportunity for their institution from the policy and practice landscape highlighted by Adrian Anderson. The full write up of the discussion notes can be found on the Partner Area.

After a short comfort break, George Ryan, Policy Adviser, Apprenticeships and FE at UCAS

presented to the group on UCAS’ apprenticeship developments including highlighting findings from the recent Where Next? UCAS report, student perceptions of apprenticeships, the pinch points and how UCAS is trying to improve and address these issues.

The next HADA meeting will take place in the Autumn term, date and time TBC.
