BTEC Practitioner Group Meeting - Webinar
After a warm welcome from Andrew Jones, Director at Linking London, delegates heard first from Ria Bhatta, Head of Stakeholder Engagement at Pearson who presented to the group on the latest developments on BTECs including the Pearson’s response to the level 3 consultation and news on assessment arrangements this summer with a focus on BTECs. This was followed by a Q&A session.
Following this we heard from Daniel Searle, Director, Sport, Science and Enterprise, Haringey Sixth Form College who presented to the group on the college’s perspective of teaching and learning during the pandemic including some pre lockdown context, challenges and positives.
After short break, attendees then went into 3 breakout groups to discuss several questions including how the pandemic has impacted on teaching, learning and assessment at their own institution and what lessons were learned. How are HE Admissions departments adapting their admissions arrangements for 2021, in light of the pandemic, including offers to BTEC level 3 applicants and lastly going forward how can we work collaboratively to help ensure BTEC level 3 learners are supported effectively to complete their studies and make a successful transition into HE. The full write up of the discussion groups can be found on the Partner Area.
