Higher and Degree Apprenticeship (HADA) Group Meeting

The second Higher and Degree Apprenticeship Group Meeting of the academic year was well attended, with both HE and FE partners present.

After a warm welcome from Darryll Bravenboer, Director of Apprenticeships and Skills at Middlesex University London, the meeting began with a presentation from Shaun Hindle, Assistant Principal – External Engagement at Barking and Dagenham College, who presented to the group giving an overview of apprenticeship developments at Barking and Dagenham College including their key drivers, their employer portfolio and engagement strategy. 

This was followed by a college and university round table update from partners on the latest news on current offer and plans going forward. Discussion included plans for September, new programmes and quality assurance. 

After a short comfort break, Sam Moorwood, Head of Work Based Learning, Sheffield Hallam University presented to the group giving an overview of their higher-level apprenticeship provision as well as their experience of going through a recent Ofsted inspection including top tips and lessons learnt. 

Andrew Jones, Linking London then presented to the group on the draft mapping of the London Apprenticeship offer in FE and HE highlighting some stats that were found including a breakdown by level and sector. 

The next HADA meeting will take place on Thursday 23rd June 2022, 11am-1pm.
