BTEC Practitioner Group Meeting

On the 22nd October, Linking London held the first BTEC Practitioner Group meeting webinar of the academic year and it was well represented with FE and HE partners present.

After a warm welcome from Andrew Jones, Director at Linking London, delegates heard first from Ria BhattaHead of Stakeholder Engagement Pearson who presented to the group on the latest developments on BTECs including the plan for 2020/21 BTEC assessments and A Level assessments, impact of level 3 reform and support for UCAS applicants. This was followed by a Q&A session. 

A college and university partner update then followed where partners shared information on work with BTEC learnersnews updates and recruitment. 

After a short comfort break, attendees then heard from Paul Barker, Subject Leader BTEC Extended Business, Havering College, who presented to the group on delivering the new RQF qualification and their experience including challenges, observations and tips. 

Lastly David MacKay, Head of Stakeholder Relationships (HE), Pearson presented to the group on T Level news and developments including the revised timeline, HE progression from T Levels and T Level grading. Attendees then had a chance to ask any questions.
