On the 2nd March, Linking London held an event looking at the UK and London labour market picture post pandemic, including growth sectors, skills shortages and predicted trends.

After introductions and an opening welcome from our Director Andrew Jones, we then heard Helen Janota, LMI Consultant from Archway Careers, who will set the scene by unpacking what we mean by LMI and its uses, followed by an overview of the national labour market, external influences, as well as highlighting some useful LMI resources.

We then heard from Christopher Rocks, Supervisory Economist, GLA Economics from the Greater London Authority, presented on skills and employment in London, focusing on its strengths and challenges, including skills shortages and low paid work, followed by a look into where future jobs will come from.

After we heard from the presenters, attendees had a chance to pose their questions on all things LMI.

The event closed with thanking everyone for their contributions throughout the afternoon.
