London NCOP - Linking London Update

May has continued to be busy for the Linking London Uni Connect programme with a focus on moving projects online and planning for next academic year with the potential of offering a blended style of delivery

We have now worked with 700 learners, 326 of which are our target ward learners. Although the OfS have removed the stringent ward learner target, this means we have been able to increase our support for under-represented students in the wider context engaging students in more than 867 activities.

University of the Arts London have launched their Online Creative Residencies with creative Students across Hub 1 and 2 using the Brightside Mentoring Platform. Learners have been matched with graduates who will be discussing subject specific skills and creative HE provision. They will also have the opportunity to attend webinars about working within the creative industry and studying creative courses in HE. There are still spaces available on the project, for further information or to get students signed up please do contact .

St Mary’s University are launching an online project with their student ambassadors in order to offer insight into life at university and subject-specific mentoring, this will be launching in June with learners across all three hubs.

Middlesex University will be hosting Subject Specific Sessions for learners across the month of June, these sessions will be delivered online and will explore students experience of studying courses at university and how their mindset can allow them to succeed despite the challenges faced by students in recent times.

The central team has been working with our HE partners to move the Collaborative Creative Summer School online; Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Ravensbourne University and Goldsmiths University will be offering a creative intervention in the place of the in-person Creative Summer School, keep an eye out for further information on this. Central team will also be creating case studies to showcase the online work going ahead and illustrate how these interventions have been useful for students during a challenging time.

Across hubs 1 and 2 Engagement Coordinators and Officers are continuing to offer one-to-one support for students via phone and email.
