HE in FE Practitioner Group Meeting

The first HE in FE Practitioner Group Meeting of the academic year chaired by David Hillier, former Assistant Principal - HE and Business Development at South Thames Colleges Group, was held on 19th November.

After a warm welcome from David Hillier, the meeting began with a presentation from Hannah Reilly and Natalja Williams who are both Membership Engagement Managers at QAA who presented to the group on the latest QAA news and updates including QAA membership. The group were able to share any challenges and priorities that might fit in with QAAs work in the quality landscape and to ask any questions. 

A partner round table update then followed where our partners gave updates on HE in FE provisionthe discussion included student recruitment numbers, lesson delivery, digital inclusion and challenges. 

Delegates then heard from Jane Baker, Vice President, Higher Education Qualifications at Pearson. Jane Baker presented an update on Higher Nationals and Higher Technical qualifications including the review and consultation, recommendations for HTE and post consultation outcomes. 

Lastly, David Hillier gave an update to the group on feedback from the GLA Higher Skills Advisory Group of the research on L4/5 in London including the outcomes of the research and the draft recommendations. 

The next HE in FE meeting will take place on March 11th 2021, 2-4pm
