Higher and Degree Apprenticeship (HADA) Group Meeting
After a warm welcome from Prof Darryll Bravenboer, Director of Apprenticeships and Skills at Middlesex University London, the meeting began with a presentation from Dr Finbar Lillis, Associate Researcher, Middlesex University. Finbar presented to the group on an overview of the Move on Up? report by Middlesex University including looking at the aims of the study and its early findings.
Following this the group heard from Jennifer Bedingham, Apprenticeship Manager at University of East London who presented to the group on UEL’S perspective on higher level apprenticeship developments during the pandemic including how things have changed and what they plan to do in the future.
After a short comfort break, a college and university round table update then followed from partners on apprenticeship news and updates at their institution and delivering higher and degree apprenticeships in the context of COVID 19. Discussion included the EPA and new apprenticeships being launched.
After a short comfort break, Paul Joyce, Deputy Director for Further Education & Skills at Ofsted
presented to the group giving an overview of the Ofsted inspections of level 6 and 7 apprenticeships from the 1st of April including the key messages, how Ofsted have prepared for this work, current plans and what to expect after 1st April.
The next HADA meeting will take place on 24th June, 2-4pm.
