Higher and Degree Apprenticeship (HADA) Group Meeting

The first Higher and Degree Apprenticeship Group Meeting of the academic year was well attended, with both HE and FE partners present.

After a warm welcome from Darryll BravenboerDirector of Apprenticeships and Skills at Middlesex University London, the meeting began with a presentation from John Cope, Director of Strategy, Policy and Public Affairs at UCASJohn presented to the group on an overview of apprenticeship developments at UCAS including their current review and how UCAS can provide a better service for apprenticeships. 

A college and university round table update then followed from partners on apprenticeship news at their institution & delivering higher and degree apprenticeships in the context of COVID 19. Discussion included what apprenticeships are being launched this year and in the future and online delivery. 

After a short comfort break, Adrian Anderson, Chief Executive aUVAC presented to the group key findings from the UVAC briefing paper including on social mobility, the levelling up agenda and UVAC’s recommendations. 

The meeting closed asking the group to contribute their thoughts towards the key priorities for the meetings going forward.
