NNCO Past Events

Linking London’s Network of Collaborative Outreach offered a series of free staff development and sector update workshops and events. The events were aimed at all advisers working in London with learners who want to progress onto higher education and in particular advisers working with Access and BTEC learners. Below you can see the event reports, and download the presentations, from all the nine adviser events we delivered through the NNCO work.

9th November 2016: Linking London NNCO Event - Spotlight on Computing

  • This event looked at the Computing sector of Higher Education including course specifications, entry requirements, graduate job prospects and related courses. It featured input from LSBU, UEL and IBM. To view the full event report and presentations, click here.

16th October 2016: Linking London’s Network of Collaborative Outreach: The Learner Journey - Supporting Progression to Higher Education

  • This event looked at the student life cycle, from making initial choices about HE, applying, making the transition and onto graduate employment. To view the full event report, click here.

10th May 2016: Linking London National Networks for Collaborative Outreach (NNCO) Event: One Year On: Working collaboratively to support learner progression to HE

  • This event celebrated a year since Linking London officially started its Network of Collaborative Outreach (NCO) as part of the HEFCE funded NNCO scheme. To view the full event report and presentations, click here.

27th April 2016: Linking London NNCO Event - Spotlight on Psychology

  • This event looked at Psychology sector of Higher Education students including course specifications, entry requirements, graduate job prospects and related courses. It featured input from Birkbeck, University of London, Newham College and Goldsmiths, University of London. Three student ambassadors also attended. 15th March 2016: Helping learners make informed choices

  • This event was designed to help advisers assist learners in progressing into Higher Education. Attendees had the opportunity to find out more about non-standard qualification progression support, sector specific websites and share examples of best practise. This meeting featured input from Kiran Rami from Uxbridge College and two speakers from Unistats, Catherine Cameron and Helen Blencowe. 26th January 2016: Spotlight On Art and Design

  • This event focused on the Art and Design sector of Higher Education, in particular on entry requirements, application advice and course content. Attendees had the opportunity to find out more about institutional facilities, interview processes and the qualifications on offer for Undergraduate students. 13th November 2015: Spotlight on Buisness and Entrepreneurship

  • This event focused on studying Business and Entrepreneurship in London, supported by the University of East London and University of Westminster. Advisers where able to find out about the range of HE courses on offer within this area of study along with picking up tips on how they can support their learners in making a strong UCAS application to study business. 30th September 2015: Personal Statement workshop

  • The new term marked the start of our adviser focused events where we kicked off with a personal statement workshop attended by advisers across London. The session provided an opportunity for us to look at how we can support learners in writing their personal statements, specifically focusing on BTEC and Access learners.
