CATS Project - What is CATS?

The Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme (CATS) is used by many universities in the United Kingdom to monitor and reward passage through a modular degree course and to facilitate movement between courses and institutions.

In 2012, Linking London was  awarded funding through BIS to run a one year project entitled: A collaborative curriculum project, using a common approach to credit accumulation and transfer in management provision to increase progression.’

This project aimed to develop a flexible credit-based curriculum in the area of management courses, to support the progression of students from level 3 programmes in business or vocational courses at a range of further education colleges in London to Level 4 courses in management and related disciplines in universities in the capital.

This was one of six projects nationally, administered by the Association of Colleges. You can read about other CATS projects on the CATS Pilot Project website.

These projects have now come to an end and below,  you will find information about key project processes and outcomes at Linking London.
