In this first meeting of the academic year, chaired by Michael Hill, Assistant Professor in Learning and Teaching, Centre of Excellence for Learning and Teaching, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, we will be sharing partner solutions to the current pandemic. We will look at the key findings from the Pearson/Wonkhe student survey. Jan Orlebar from the University of Greenwich will be sharing her innovation work on improving retention amongst BAME students through her support programme entitled ‘Start strong, stay strong’. We will also hear from both an FE (Bushra Iqbal, Deputy Director Higher Education and Access at Newham College) and HE (Syreeta Allen, Head of Student Outcomes, Student Success Dept. King’s College London) perspective about how their college and university has responded to the pandemic whilst focusing on retention and student success.

We hope you can join us for what will be a stimulating and interesting discussion. Please come prepared to share your experience of the last few months during the partner update session at the beginning of the meeting

This meeting is aimed at HE and FE academic and admissions staff, advisers and widening participation staff and those with a responsibility for induction, retention and success. However, anyone with an interest in retention and success is welcome to attend.
