Our third student retention and success practitioner group meeting will provide an opportunity to find out more about the work that is going on to increase student retention and success amongst HE students within our partner organisations. Following an introduction and scene setting from our Chair Michael Hill, Michael Hill, Assistant Professor in Learning and Teaching, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, we will be discussing with partners how they are adapting to teaching and learning and engaging with students in the context of covid-19. Attendees will also be hearing from:

  • Emelie Helsen, Mindsets and Skillsets coordinator, from Ravensbourne University London who will be talking about their mindset and skillset manifesto
  • Sharon Perera and Nicola Mottram from the University of Greenwich who will providing an overview of the transition skills course they run for academics
  • Lisa Westray, Deputy Principal, Strategy & Performance, Haringey 6th Form College will be sharing how they are addressing retention through attendance and engagement.

The group is open to all staff groups within our partnership although we would particularly encourage those who have a strategic responsibility for retention and success, are involved in student support, teaching and learning staff as well and Widening Participation staff. However, anyone with an interest in retention and success is welcome to attend.
