Our first HE in FE Practitioner Group Meeting of this academic year, chaired by David Hillier (former Assistant Principal of South Thames Colleges Group) will provide attendees with the opportunity to explore and discuss current developments and challenges within college HE.

We will hear from Pearson, who will update the group on the latest news within the HNC/HND space as well as looking at the trends and developments around the Higher Technical Qualification agenda.

Following the GLA's draft Education Roadmap for London, setting out a long-term vision for adult learners in the capital, we will also be discussing what this means for college HE and navigating the future to provide Londers with the skills and knowledge they need to gain employment.

We will also have our round table discussion where partners will have the opportunity to update the group on what has been going on within their own institutions and talk about any good news stories and issues or concerns they may be facing.

Linking London will also be sharing some recent desk-based research around online marketing of HE in FE courses looking at what makes a good website, what we can learn from each other and pitfalls to avoid.

And, finally we will be saying a fond farewell to David Hillier, who will be stepping down as chair.  David has been the chair of this group since November 2018 and has done a great job in keeping us on track and imparting his vast HE in FE knowledge to us all. Attendees will be introduced to the new chair who will take the reins going forward.

This meeting is aimed at HE and FE academic and admissions staff, advisers and widening participation staff and those with a responsibility for induction, retention and success. However, anyone with an interest in HE in FE is welcome to attend.
