The second IAG meeting of this academic year will provide an opportunity for partner staff to keep up to date with the latest IAG news, identify issues, potential solutions and share good practice.

At the meeting attendees will hear from Sophie Baldry, Senior Marketing Executive at Rate My Apprenticeship (RMA). Sophie will be providing an overview of how RMA can support advisers as well as students and will share her perspectives on how to support applicants to secure an apprenticeship, including identifying vacancies, making a strong application and navigating the assessment process. There will then be an opportunity for the group to discuss how we can better inform students and support them to progress onto higher level apprenticeships going forward.

Ben Rutter, Funding Information Partners Account Manager at the Student Loans Company, will be providing an update on the latest HE Finance news.  In addition Linking London will be sharing the latest mapping of higher and degree apprenticeship vacancy data for London.

Attendees will also hear from Annie Dobson who chairs the Office for Students (OfS) IAG Advisory Group. As outlined in their Regulatory framework, the OfS’s approach to regulation puts informed student choice at its heart. This group, which includes representatives from key partners and stakeholders, including students, UCAS and IAG providers, will be playing a key role in informing the OfS IAG strategy going forward. Annie will be summarising the OfS’s approach to IAG as outlined in its strategy, latest findings from the advisory group and what next for this important work-strand.

Meetings are aimed at Careers Advisers and University Outreach Staff, but are open to any staff at partner institutions who are interested in IAG relating to HE progression.
