In a competitive job market, supporting students to develop the employability skills needed is an increasingly important role for universities, as highlighted in the Office for Students benchmarks.

This event will commence with a presentation from Chris Rea and Laura Greaves, Prospects, who will give an overview of the current graduate labour market as well as what employers are looking for in a successful applicant and how graduates can best prepare for entry into the labour market.

Attendees will also hear from some of our university partners who are embedding employability skills on course and providing examples of how they support students, particularly from under-represented backgrounds, once they have left higher education and are looking for graduate work. There will also be an opportunity to discuss how we can improve the employability of students and share best practice going forward

This meeting is aimed at Careers Advisers and University Outreach Staff, but are open to any staff at partner institutions who are interested in the graduate labour market and developing student’s employability skills.
