Launched in June, the ‘Skills for Londoners – a skills and adult education strategy for London’ is the first dedicated post-16 skills and education strategy produced by a London Mayor. It sets out to bring together both the needs of Londoners and of business, and seeks to create a more strategic, joined-up, city-wide approach, working collaboratively with learners, individuals, employers, education and training providers, boroughs and a number of other key stakeholders. Meanwhile, tenders for the newly devolved large Adult Education Budget are being sought.

This event will provide an opportunity to find out more about the strategy and the Skills for Londoners Framework, which sets out how City Hall will capitalise on the opportunities presented by devolution of the Adult Education Budget to deliver a more strategic adult education and skills system, where we are in terms of the latest developments and crucially how our partners can get involved. Come and join us to find out more, ask questions and see how your organisation can get involved in delivering this new strategy for London.

Attendees will hear from Michael Heanue, Principal Policy Officer, Skills, Employment & SMEs from the Greater London Authority and Yolande Burgess, Strategy Director, London Councils, who will be setting the London scene and providing a London Councils’ perspective.
