The third and last BTEC Practitioner meeting of this academic year will include an update on BTEC developments as well as the latest news on government's plans for technical education from David MacKay, Head of Awarding Body Stakeholder Engagement, Pearson.

At this meeting a short summary of the key findings of the recent HEPI paper, Reforming BTECs: Applied General qualifications as a route to higher education, will also be shared with the group for discussion.

After a round table update, which will provide attendees with an opportunity to share news, issues and good practice, David MacKay and Andrew Jones will share a detailed draft guide for BTEC learners interested in progressing on to higher level learning. This resource will be made available online and feedback from the group attendees will help to make this an invaluable source of information and advice for learners, advisers and college staff.

This meeting is aimed at HE and FE academic and admissions staff, advisers and widening participation staff and those with a responsibility for induction, retention and success. However, anyone with an interest in BTEC learners and progression to HE is also welcome to attend.
