2 May 2017: Linking London NCOP Update
Since March there have been a number of Linking London NCOP developments to update you on. On the 20th April, the London NCOP Consortium held its first Governing Body Meeting at Kingston University, chaired by Kingston University’s Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr David Mackintosh, and attended by Sue Betts and Emily Harber on behalf of Linking London.

9 June 2017: Linking London NCOP Update
Heading into June we have now completed the pilot phase of the NCOP in the North East delivery Hub and had our final NCOP Steering Group meeting of the academic year. We have been pleased with how this phase has progressed and will be looking at building on the lessons learnt over the summer as we turn our attention to the other two delivery hubs as well as continuing to work in the North East Hub. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in this stage and we very much look forward to our continued work with you all going forward.

1 February 2018: London NCOP-Linking London Update
January has been a busy month for London-NCOP Linking London. We are delighted to welcome Coulsdon College to our Hub 2 who will collaborate with Linking London and Goldsmiths University to offer a programme of activity to ward learners. We have also been busy working on our Q4 monitoring and financial return to HEFCE, where we provided an update on our progress against our initial operating plan. This has now been submitted and we are awaiting feedback.

8 November 2017: Event report – HE in FE Practitioner Group Meeting
This meeting featured presentations from Ben Potter, Pearson, on the Higher Nationals Quality Assurance, Liz Kebby-Jones, HEFCE, on the future of HE – the Office for Students (OfS) and TEF, Sue Betts and Naomi Smith, Linking London, on the current picture of College based HE in London and the higher and degree apprenticeships vacancy landscape.

23 May 2017: Event report - BTEC Practitioner Group Meeting
The meeting featured a presentation from David MacKay, Pearson, who provided an update on the Pearson BTEC qualification and a review of the year for BTECs. Andrew Jones, Linking London, then presented on the current apprenticeships landscape and live vacancies for Greater London. Following this, Andrew provided delegates with an overview of the recent HEPI paper on BTECs and Applied General qualifications as a route to HE. Andrew then presented the group with comparative research on BTEC entry requirements for 2016/17 and 2017/18. The session ended with a Linking London update on resources.

27 February 2018: London NCOP-Linking London Update
February seems to have flown by and we are pleased that work with year 1 learners in hubs 1 and 2 is now well underway thanks to the hard work of our engagement officers and partner universities who are delivering there.

3 January 2018: London NCOP-Linking London Update
In December the Linking London NCOP team continued its work in hubs 1 & 2 and held two events – a Christmas event to celebrate the work that has been achieved as part of the NCOP programme and a Brightside training day for aspiring student mentors from our partner universities.

3 October 2017: Event report - IAG Practitioner Group Meeting
The first meeting of the academic year featured presentations from Tim Dhir from Kingston University London on personal statements and Andrew Jones & Naomi Smith, Linking London, who offered insights into the current higher and degree apprenticeships landscape in Greater London.

10 October 2017: Event report - Access Practitioner Group
The meeting featured presentations from Marisa Castellini, Head of Access to HE at OCN London, who provided an overview of the current Access to HE Diploma developments. Marisa Castellini and Andrew Jones, Deputy Director of Linking London, then provided an update on Nursing & Midwifery recruitment and admissions tests. This was followed by a presentation from Andrew Jones on higher and degree apprenticeship opportunities in London. Linking London then shared the findings of their Access entry requirements mapping.
